Passionate People Win

by trisharjackson on July 25, 2009

A job is 9-5.  It pays the bills. You don’t necessarily have to love it.  It can be  full of brick walls, jagged boundaries and mundane tasks.  A career, however, happens while others are sleeping, eating lunch, or watching TV and it should be the love of your life.  It’s open sourced, flexible, rewarding, and should light your fire you up  to deal with the go-through-the-motion responsibilities of the job.

New technology allows me to excel in my career.  I can use it to be a valuable resource to others and engage in passionate conversations which result in powerful, productive tools to make the job more fruitful in terms of increasing the bottom line (the company’s and my own).

I don’t work for a living.  Others work for my living – and I work for theirs.  Tools like Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs, Podcasts, etc allow us to develop relationships with those who may have a passion in another area in the digital marketing space, different from our own.  They allow us to tap into each others’ expertise so that we can be smarter 9-5 business people.

Passionate people win in all aspects of life.  We sleep more efficiently, think more and dream big without being able to “turn it off”.  Why would you want to?  We tap into the knowledge of others so that we are able to work less smarter. We’re multitaskers and challenge seekers since we seem to find more time in the day than some of our best friends.

It’s passion, folks. Nothing more.  You find a way to do things the way you want, when you want and with whom you want to do them with.  Gotta love the our effort for creatively keeping ourselves fulfilled every day.
